Math is a subject from which almost every student has a fear. They think that math is a challenging subject, and they cannot pass. But! If you look closely, math is not that difficult. It becomes problematic only when you don’t practice it well. If you practice it, you will find math an easy subject.
Here are some tips for students appearing on boards to score good marks in math. So! Let’s get started-
- Go through the syllabus and weightage allocated
before you start preparing for your examination, you must have all the basic information about the syllabus that will come in the examination. You can either search on the net or ask your school to provide you with the syllabus. Generally, the syllabus won’t change for class 10 math so, but for your satisfaction, go through the syllabus thoroughly. Also, check the weightage of all the chapters. Since you have to cover many chapters of math, it is better that you must learn about the weightage of each chapter. This will give you an idea of which chapter you should start with. Start completing the chapters whose weightage is more.
-
Separate your strong and weak areas
You don’t need to be good in all the chapters. There might be some chapters in which you are excellent, but there might also be some chapters in which you are not too strong. To do better in your life and on boards, you should analyze your weak and strong points. Sit! And have a look at the chapters. Make a note of your firm and invalid chapters. Once you finish making the notes, start working on yourself. Try to improve your weak chapters. Take the help of teachers, tutors, etc. but work on your weaknesses and pay attention to your strong chapters. That will help you to score good marks.
-
Make a schedule
Once you have finished knowing the syllabus and knowing the strong and your weak areas, now it’s time for you to make a schedule. The schedule is something that keeps you on the right track. You will come across so many distractions in a day that could carry you away from your goal. So! It is better to make a schedule. Give more time to the topics in which you are not so good and comparatively less to those in which you are excellent. Also, include rest time in your schedule because it is equally important to rest as it’s essential to study. So! Make your schedule according to the timings which suit you and strictly follow it.
-
Refer to NCERT books first
Many children habit reading from the reference book and ignoring the NCERT book. It is not the right way to prepare for class 10 boards. Ask from the seniors who have already appeared for the boards and ask your teachers about the questions. They will also tell you that almost all the questions in the examination are from the NCERT book. You only read NCERT books; you can read other reference books but first, complete your NCERT book at any cost, then only move to other reference books.
-
Understand the formulas, derivations, and theorems
Math is not like class 10 chemistry, where you can mug up all the things, and you are ready to give the exams. Math is not about mugging up things, it’s all about how better you understand the formulas, theorems, and derivations. You can learn the definitions, but not the theorems and derivations. They make theorems and formulas easy, and you will have to understand the concept and clear your basics. In this way, you will be able to score good marks. But! Never try to mug up things in maths.
Final Words
Class 10 maths is not as complex as class 11 chemistry. You can easily score good marks in class 10 boards by following some above-mentioned simple steps.
All The Best!
